The importance of branding in recruitment

Branding is the art and science of actively shaping your brand. With creativity, skill and strategy, a brand can establish an identity that sets itself apart from the competition, sparking a connection with its target audience.

Branding is what gives you a reputation and ultimately a future. At Elephants, we believe that if you build a strong brand right from the start, you can consistently maintain it as it grows.

Branding is important for almost every sector and we have recently worked on building a brand for a recruitment agency. Through this we’ve been able to prove how crucial branding is for services, not only products.

A recruitment agency is a brand in itself. It ultimately exists to help people change their lives for the better. Recruitment agencies are there to bring two things together (the job and the employee), in the best way possible.

But every recruitment agency is different. They have their own values, their own personalities, and their own core purpose which drives their everyday routines. Branding has the power to bring these differences to light in a way that their target audiences will resonate with.

Unlike product-based branding, recruitment agencies have two very differing audiences to tap into: their clients (looking to hire) and their candidate (looking for a job). This means that the branding must relate to both, with a clear and easy-to-understand theme running through. It is vital that a recruitment agencies’ purpose, personality and values are made clear through the design, look and feel of all of its marketing materials – from the website design through to the job vacancy leaflets.

Initi8, an IT recruitment agency, approached Elephants Can’t Jump for help with their brand identity, overall design rebranding and website copy. We’re delighted to have assisted them and look forward to seeing the application of their new identity on their website soon!
